Digital & Community Outreach Worker

FUNCTION:

The purpose of this position is: to conduct outreach via social media and at appropriate locations in the community; to refer clients to needed services; and to assist clients in obtaining health, housing and social services.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Develop, coordinate, and implement digital outreach activities to promote and market program services

  • Identify appropriate media for digital outreach for each focus population

  • Conduct weekly outreach to focus populations utilizing Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc

  • Conduct venue-based outreach as assigned

  • Provide referrals to MAC services or other services as needed

  • Complete individual level field assessments when appropriate

  • Must ensure the confidentiality and privacy of all client information in accordance with applicable federal, state, local and grant requirements

  • Monitor and report all program activities

SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Comfortable talking about HIV/HCV/STI and related subjects

  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team

  • Knowledge of social media, including Facebook, Instagram and Twitter

  • Strong organizational and communication skills

  • Excellent interpersonal skills

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Knowledge of populations MAC serves

  • H.S. Diploma and experience in social service or related field preferred 

  • Experience in HIV/AIDS prevention, treatment, and advocacy or related field (i.e. mental health, human services) preferred
